Isn’t Socialism Supposed To Rely On Materialist Philosophy?

Isn’t socialism supposed to rely on materialist philosophy? If so, why does the “Socialist Alternative” organization mention “LBGTQ” as though it denotes a category to which people could belong? I want them to explain a materialist understanding of T other than as permission to cut up healthy children.
