I think it would make better sense for the government to “tax” — or _charge for_ — raw materials (i. e. the gifts of the earth) rather than taxing corporate income (combine that with a purple wage). Also the public acting through its government should tax pollution and other private activities that cause public costs and risks.
This is in response to a posting on Facebook that says:
It’s time we were honest about who the real welfare queens are — not the desperate for work, or the working poor, or the ailing middle class, but the Ultra Rich corporations who get the benefits of a strong government without ever paying for it in taxes.
